Box Breathing

Box breathing is a quick way to calm down.

This breathing technique relaxes your body, refocuses your mind, and regulates when you’re feeling overwhelmed. 

 
 
 

Here’s how to get started: 

  • Begin by counting up to 6 on your inhale.

  • Then hold at the top for 6 seconds.

  • Exhale for a count of 6. 

 

Repeat this slowly for a couple of rounds until you can actually feel your body and mind calming down.

I recommend starting with 3 cycles.

This is a great exercise to do if you’re listening in on a challenging conference call or before or after a social situation that you’re anxious about to calm or reset the body.
